HARRISBURG – The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) today approved a grant for $900,000 for a project supported by state Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) for improvements to East Penn Drive in East Pennsboro Township.
“This is a positive example of what can happen when state and local officials work together to deliver a project for local residents,” Rothman said. “This funding will make Adams-Ricci Park an even greater community asset and provide greater access for local families to take advantage of recreational opportunities.”
The project will widen traffic lanes, install traffic signals and establish new turn lanes to ensure East Penn Drive can safely handle the increased traffic that will accompany a new development located along the road.
The project also will build a pedestrian and bicycle bridge across East Penn Drive to connect the two sides of Adams-Ricci Park.
CFA awarded the grant from the Multimodal Transportation Fund to the Cumberland County Industrial Development Authority.
CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to administer Pennsylvania's economic stimulus packages. Learn more about CFA by visiting https://DCED.Pa.Gov/programs-funding/commonwealth-financing-authority-cfa
