HARRISBURG – In response to concerns raised by the residents and township officials, Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) will host a townhall on Wertzville Road to address driver safety and traffic issues.

The townhall is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Shaull Elementary School, Cafeteria located at 1 Shaull Dr., Enola, PA 17025.

“I have heard from many concerned citizens who travel on Wertzville Road who are worried about safety, and frustrated with heavy traffic,” said Rothman. “I’ve requested a traffic study to be done on Wertzville Road and I have ideas on how to address the issue with turning lanes and traffic signals. I would like to hear feedback and suggestions from my constituents on how to improve the area.”

Rothman has worked with PennDOT engineers and local township officials to conceptualize potential solutions to the highly congested area.

“For many years, Werzville Road was a country road. Now we must decide whether this is going to be a widened road that can handle more commuters and shoppers, or if we should make it a less appealing short cut with slower speeds.”

For more information about the townhall, contact Rothman’s district office at (717) 975-2235.
