– Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) announced that the House of Representatives gave overwhelming support to his resolution honoring the Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP), on its 20th anniversary.
“My friends and I founded Harrisburg Young Professionals because we recognized the need for young professionals to come together and revitalize the energy and enthusiasm in the city of Harrisburg,” said Rothman. “Today, we have over 1,000 members and a board of directors comprised entirely of professionals under 50 years old.”
According to HYP’s 2017 annual report, 284 events and programs were hosted by the organization throughout the year. The group raised over $5,000 for charity with its annual date auction and will be hosting the 2018 charity date action Nov. 2.

“Harrisburg is on the verge of an economic revival and it’s going to require the young people of this region to step up as a team and better their community,” Rothman said. “In order for the city to stay healthy in the long run, young people need to be involved in the revitalization process. I’m happy to say HYP has played a vital role in making this happen.”
