Honoring Our Veterans: Annual Veterans Recognition Breakfast

As a small token of our thanks, veterans and their families from Central Pennsylvania are invited to a free pancake breakfast, where veterans will be recognized for their service and have access to veterans’ resources.

The Annual Veterans Recognition Breakfast will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the Hampden Township Recreation Building. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. by a local Boy Scout troop, with a pinning ceremony for Vietnam veterans at 9 a.m.

The Hampden Township Recreation building is located at 5001 Hampden Park Drive in Mechanicsburg.

Hail to the Champions!

Congratulations to the East Pennsboro 11U Little League team, after defeating Stroudsburg 8-4 for the Pennsylvania Little League Tournament championship.

This was the first Little League State Championship for the Panthers. They went on to earn a 6-5 championship victory over Haverstraw, N.Y., in Beverly, Massachusetts, nabbing the Eastern Region Invitational Championship.

East Pennsboro finished its most decorated season at 20-1 overall. It was my honor to present them with a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives recognizing their hard work and achievements.

Pennsylvania Needs Smart Solutions for School Safety

Ensuring our school students have access to safe and productive environments where they can advance their education and prepare for their careers has been a top priority of lawmakers, community leaders and school administrators throughout the Commonwealth.

Maintaining effective security means schools need a combination of physical and cybersecurity solutions that work together to keep students and faculty safe without causing educational environments to become less conducive to student success.

I invite you to click here to read an article that I wrote discussing my thoughts and solutions to this critical issue facing Pennsylvanians.
